Our open letter was signed by hundreds of parents, guardians and early years workers – nannies, social workers, Support for Learning staff, childminders, SENCos, Nursery School and Primary School teachers, Montessori teachers, teaching assistants, NEU, Unite and Unison reps, specialists in Early Childhood Studies and Professors of Inequalities Analysis, independent nurseries from Deptford to the Isle of Wight, and Helen Pankhurst (Sylvia's granddaughter). The letter was sent to Vicky Ford MP (Minister for Early Years), Gavin Williamson MP (Secretary of State for Education), Mims Davis MP (Minister for Employment), Elizabeth Truss MP (Minister for Women and Equalities), and Rishi Sunak MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer), Re: Early Years Policy – Protect All Childcare Workers and Support All Children – directly fund nurseries and guarantee provision for all disadvantaged children
